Our School

Located in the heart of old Cabbagetown in Toronto, Cabbagetown Co-operative Nursery School has offered young children a wonderful first time school experience for over 25 years. Our programs allow your child to play, learn and socialize in a warm and caring environment.


Our philosophy is simple: It is through play that children learn about themselves and others. Through play they feel joy and acceptance and build feelings of self-confidence. We work with each child to help him or her learn to play in a way that is appealing to, and accepting of, others.


The non-profit Cabbagetown Co-op. Nursery School is licensed through the Day Nurseries Act, by the Ministry of Community and Social Services. Our status as a co-op allows you to take an active role in your child's education. Parents elect the board that runs the school and are encouraged to take on a special job They also have the option of becoming a "duty parent" who assists the teacher in the classroom one day a week.


We offer two unique half-day programs. Choose the one that is perfect for your child's age, his or her development, and schedule.
